About Our 34/1000 Box Profile Translucent GRP Rooflights

Introduce a touch of natural light into large roof areas with Cladco 34/1000 GRP translucent rooflights. Made to integrate seamlessly with our 34/1000 metal box profile sheets, they brighten agricultural barns, warehouses, factories, workshops and suitable domestic outbuildings while maintaining a strong, weather‑resistant roof covering.

Lightweight and easy to handle, these 1.5mm GRP rooflight sheets can be cut and fixed with standard tools, making installation straightforward whether you’re incorporating them into a new roof or adding daylight panels to an existing structure.

When used between metal 34/1000 box profile sheets, each GRP sheet should be overlapped by 250mm over a purlin for proper support. To maintain overall roof strength, which is particularly important in industrial and agricultural buildings, we recommend installing no more than two rooflights side by side before returning to metal sheets.

Benefits of 34/1000 GRP Translucent Rooflights

  • Brings natural daylight into large interior spaces
  • Lightweight GRP for quick, simple installation
  • Durable construction withstands wind and hailstones
  • Gel‑coated finish helps extend service life
  • Matches 34/1000 metal sheets for seamless integration

Manufactured from glass‑reinforced plastic (GRP), these sheets offer excellent durability, withstanding high winds, hailstones and general weather exposure. A protective gel coat helps maintain clarity and extends the lifespan of the sheet, while the GRP composition provides natural UV protection to help safeguard the interior below.

These rooflights are also a popular choice for horticultural and plant‑growing environments, providing bright, even daylight with minimal maintenance and long service life.

Fixing Guidance

For best results, 34/1000 GRP rooflights should be installed using standard tools suitable for lightweight GRP sheeting. When fitting rooflights between metal box profile sheets, ensure each GRP sheet is overlapped by 250mm over a purlin to provide adequate support. To maintain overall roof strength, especially in agricultural or industrial buildings, avoid installing more than two GRP rooflights side by side before returning to metal sheeting.

GRP sheets can be cut easily on site and fixed using standard roof‑fixing methods, such as self‑drilling fix screws, helping you achieve a secure, weather‑tight finish with minimal effort. Foam fillers are also available in a matching box profile to ensure a weatherproof, efficient installation.

We recommend you take time to read our 34/1000 installation guide before starting your installation. Click here to find out more.

How To Calculate Square Metres plus minus

Working out the total square meterage of your roof will require measuring the total width of the roof’s area as well as the distance from the eaves (the lowest point) to the apex (the highest point) of the roof. This should be undertaken carefully and safely.

We recommend taking these measurements from the inside of your building for safety purposes. Multiply the two measurements together to give the total square meterage of the roof.

For apex, or dual-sided, roofs, you will need to work out the square meterage of each side of the roof and add the numbers together for the total coverage.

Customer Collection Notice

Please ensure you have pre-booked your collection slot before travelling to site.

When arriving to collect your order, please report to a member of our Warehouse Team who will register your arrival and locate your goods. Once ready, your items will be picked and brought to your vehicle loading area.

During busy periods, there may be a short wait while our yard team assist other customers or complete other loading tasks. We always do our best to work within your booked collection time.

We respectfully draw your attention to the following important points:

  • Loading is ultimately the customer’s responsibility. While our team can assist with mechanical loading using forklifts, we cannot handball items into enclosed vehicles. Customers must ensure their vehicle is suitable and that goods are safely loaded and adequately secured before leaving the premises.
  • Sharp sheeting, metal goods, and long/heavy items may pose additional handling risks. Please come prepared with high-quality protective gloves, and any appropriate protection materials to avoid damage to your vehicle or restraints (e.g. ropes or straps). The edges of roofing sheets and metal products can be extremely sharp, and care should be taken when handling.
  • We strongly recommend that customers bring their own straps, ropes, or other securing materials, as we are unable to provide these at the point of collection.
  • If you are unsure of your vehicle’s load capacity, we can advise the approximate weight of your order in advance. It is your responsibility to ensure your vehicle is suitable for transporting the goods safely and legally.
  • Cladco will not be held liable for any damage to your vehicle or goods once they have been loaded and leave our premises. Loading assistance is provided entirely at the customer’s own risk.
