Product Quality

The benefits of choosing our composite cladding options include a low-maintenance exterior solution that is resistant to rot, splintering and warping. Made from a mix of recycled hardwood fibres and recycled plastic, our signature composite wall cladding is both sustainable and stylish. With lower overall maintenance costs compared to natural timber, our composite boards do not require staining, painting or treatment to maintain their appearance. ProClad cladding boards are highly durable, offering increased resistance to scratching, staining and fading caused by UV exposure.

Product Range

Signature composite boards are 3.6m in length. Like our Signature decking and fencing, they are available in a choice of eight contemporary colours and two finishes. Both signature and ProClad cladding boards are easily installed using a tongue-and-groove system and can be assembled vertically or horizontally. ProClad offers superior protection from weather conditions and fading due to its polymer-capped shell, making it a durable and low-maintenance solution for transforming exterior spaces.

FAQs

Cladco composite wall cladding boards are a durable alternative to wood cladding. Their environmentally friendly wood/plastic composition makes for a material that is rot and warp resistant, low-maintenance and long-lasting in comparison to natural wood.

Composite cladding can be more expensive than wood cladding initially, due to the higher cost of the materials and manufacturing process. This however works out as less expensive in the long run as composite is stronger, longer-lasting and has lower maintenance needs than wood or timber.

Composite cladding is a highly durable material in comparison to wooden cladding. The combination of wood and plastic makes for a strong board that will not rot, warp or splinter over time.

Depending on where you live and where your composite boards have been installed can affect how long the cladding will last. The wood/plastic composition of the material used to manufacture the boards is a more durable alternative to timber and will last longer in areas that are not exposed to harsh weather conditions.

Our composite cladding boards have a low water absorption rate when compared with real wood cladding. The plastic elements within the composite boards are mixed with hardwood fibres during the extrusion process to prevent moisture from absorbing into the boards.

Cladco Signature composite cladding boards are covered by a 10 year residential and commercial warranty.

Cladco ProDeck and composite slatted boards are covered by a 15 year residential and commercial warranty.

Full details are available on our terms & conditions page.

Composite cladding requires far less upkeep than traditional materials but still benefits from occasional cleaning. Cladco ProClad’s capped surface offers added protection against dirt, while our uncapped Signature composite cladding boards will need to be cleaned more promptly if exposed to tree sap, bird droppings or water runoff from gutters, all of which can cause staining.

Both ranges can be washed with warm, soapy water and a sponge, while a pressure washer may be used for areas requiring more thorough cleaning. For best results, drying the boards afterwards helps prevent new dirt from settling.

One of the disadvantages of composite wall cladding is that it can be expensive to install - especially if hiring a professional to do this for you. Having said this, in the long run, the benefits of using composite far outweigh this due to its low-maintenance and long-lasting properties.

Composite cladding can be installed both horizontally and vertically onto a simple substructure made up of battens. The boards fit together using a tongue and groove technique. A selection of trims can be used for a seamless finish around edges and corners. Take a look at our installation guide for more information.

We offer M4x40 stainless steel wood screws which are compatible with both Cladco Signature composite and ProClad capped composite cladding boards, providing a secure and reliable fixing to timber battens.

Composite cladding boards are naturally very resistant to water exposure/weather damage and so there is a relatively low chance of water penetrating through the cladding and damaging the wall behind. If however, you live in an environment where there is high wind and rainfall, a good quality membrane installed beneath your boards will help to protect your home.

Yes, we have our full range of cladding board samples available to order on our website. From exterior composite cladding to internal panels, you’ll be able to experience the boards for yourself before you make the leap to purchasing.

Both our Signature and ProClad composite cladding is only available in 3.6m lengths. If a different length is needed for your project, boards can be cut to size using standard wood cutting tools. We advise using a fine-toothed blade for a clean finish to the edges. Our composite slatted wall cladding panels come in 2.5m lengths.

Cladco supplies you with cladding products but doesn’t install them. When it comes to setting up your cladding, we recommend following the relevant installation guide to help with this process.

I wasnt sure if metal battens were worth it but glad I tried them. The 50mm width did the trick for my composite cladding. Easy enough to screw in and felt proper solid once up. Staff on the phone were sound too, answered all my questions. Would buy again.

I used these on a metal cladding job, big frontage, and they held up spot on. None of that twisting you get with timber. Heavy duty but still manageable to fit. Will defo use again
