More About Cladco Metal Cleats
Our metal pre-punched cleats are designed specifically with our existing Z and C purlins in mind. These corresponding purlin cleats ease the installation process of purlins onto the structural frame, ideal for either cladding and roofing projects.
This metal bracket is secured to a supporting fixture, such as an RSJ, allowing for your purlins to be easily attached to the structural joists. Cleats can be mounted either on the top of the joist or positioned perpendicularly within it, enabling the purlin to sit flush with the edge. This configuration can be chosen based on your specific purlin support requirements.
Cleat specifications

Width: 129mm
Depth: 69mm
Punched hole size: 18.25mm
Material: S450 pre-galvanised steel
(Allow for 1mm tolerance)
The cleats are manufactured from high-strength galvanised steel to ensure that potential rusting and corrosion is minimal and that the purlin system remains sturdy and properly secured.
As well as being tailor-made for our range of metal purlins, the pre-punched cleats fit seamlessly with our bolt set. This will allow you to complete your purlin roofing or cladding installation with ease. These fixings are also sold as a set, or separately if needed.
It is advised to store the cleats in a dry and covered area to minimise contact with moisture and reduce the risk of rust. Keep off the ground using pallets and cover with tarpaulins where possible to avoid any unnecessary wear and tear or water damage prior to installation.
We recommend using two cleats for every purlin used, for a highly secure finish.
Make sure to handle the cleats with care to avoid damage or injury. Use safety gloves for protection from the sharp edges of the steel cleats.
