Searching for inspiration for your upcoming fencing project?
Discover our nine composite fencing ideas to get started and complete your outside space. We have four colours to choose from and, if you are stuck, we have Signature composite fencing and ProFence capped-composite fencing sample packs available on our website.
Cladco composite fencing is a great alternative to traditional timber fencing as it is long-lasting and low-maintenance, durable against extreme weather and resistant to rotting and splintering. Made from 100% recycled materials, our composite fencing is made up of 60% recycled hardwood fibres and 40% recycled plastics, making it an environmentally friendly product to use whilst preventing insect attacks.
We have a range of composite fencing products including fencing panels, fence posts, caps and rails.
1) Add lighting to your fence posts

This customer has installed spotlights directly onto their charcoal-coloured composite fence posts, creating a sleek and modern finish. The lights blend seamlessly with the posts for a discreet installation and cast a downward glow that not only highlights the fence panels but also helps illuminate nearby flower beds, pathways and garden features.
2) Use contrasting colours

As well as adding decorative lighting to their project, this customer has chosen contrasting colours for the fence panels and posts, creating a striking and cohesive look. The fence panels match the decking, helping to visually tie the space together, while the darker fence posts complement the garden furniture, adding depth and balance. The lantern-style lights, while traditionally inspired, have a modern finish and are mounted on matching hooks fixed to the posts. Not only do they softly illuminate the decking seating area, but their hanging design allows them to sway gently in the breeze, adding a warm, atmospheric touch against the composite fencing backdrop.
3) Add gravel boards

In this project, the customer has used timber gravel boards as a base for their composite fencing. This is a practical way to reduce costs and increase the overall height of the fence. Gravel boards also help protect the fence panels by preventing direct contact with the wet ground, reducing the risk of moisture damage.
4) Fix fencing posts behind panels

The customer in the image below has installed their Signature composite fencing panels in front of composite fence posts, adding extra privacy to a pre-existing wall. This method also creates a clean, modern finish with a seamless fence panel appearance.
5) Match your fencing to your decking

Why not complete your outdoor space with matching composite fencing and decking from Cladco? Our Signature and ProFence fencing ranges are available in a variety of colours designed to complement our composite decking options, including Signature and ProDeck boards. It’s an ideal way to achieve a cohesive, high-end finish across your garden.
6) Alternate composite fencing and decking colours

Take inspiration from the customer project shown above, where teak-coloured composite fencing has been paired with olive green Signature composite decking to great effect. Mixing colours like this can really bring your garden to life and create a more open, spacious feel, especially useful when space is at a premium.
7) Add to existing structures

Our composite fencing panels can be fixed directly to existing walls, as shown in this clever customer installation. Here, they’ve paired Signature composite fencing panels with existing concrete posts, using our fencing post spacers. Fixing panels to a wall is a great way to save on materials, reduce installation time, and make use of existing structures, ideal for gardens where space or access may be limited.
8) Finish with fencing rails

Add our composite fencing rails, available in a range of colours, to give your fencing installation a clean, finished look. In this example, the customer has chosen grey composite fencing panels and paired them with contrasting rails. The result is a bold border that frames the panels beautifully and helps them stand out as a striking feature in the garden.
PLEASE NOTE: We changed the colours in our Composite Fencing range in January 2024. Some of the colours featured in this blog post may no longer be available.
